The Kittitas County Fair, first organized in 1885, is held every Labor Day weekend, and coincides with the Ellensburg Rodeo. It’s a traditional fair, with lots of emphasis on agriculture, livestock, homemade goods, entertainment and rides.

Insider info: Entertainers are scheduled throughout the weekend for your enjoyment. See the website for a complete list of performers. There’s something for every age, including an area of carnival rides strictly for the little ones.

A few tidbits on the fair:

  • Look for parking North of the fairgrounds on Alder. There’s a shuttle that runs between the fairgrounds and the parking lot.
  • There’s parking on the fairgrounds premises for $5 a day.
  • More than 75,000 people attended last year, so be prepared to encounter crowds.
  • There’s food for every palate, so you won’t need to go far to find a meal.
  • If you plan on staying overnight in Ellensburg during any of these days, book far in advance. It fills up fast with Labor Day Weekend visitors.
  • The weather’s still pretty warm this time of year, but evenings are cool.
