Insider info: Ahh … summertime, the sound of music lingering in the warm night air, delectable wines and brews, dancing … the good stuff just goes on and on at Jazz in the Valley. The three-day event is known far and wide as a not-to-miss event.

Music lovers come from across the Northwest, the United States and from Europe to check out the groovy tunes of 20-plus musicians. An eclectic list of performers will be on hand, including musicians specializing in multiple forms of jazz, blues, gospel and salsa. Some past performers included the Bill Anschell Trio, Cambalache Salsa, the Duffy Bishop Band, the Greta Matassa Quartet and Voices for Christ. There are plenty of activities for the kids, but some areas are adults only.

A few tidbits on the event:

• It’s typically very warm in Ellensburg this time of year, so wear lightweight clothing during the day and bring layers for the cool evenings.
• Book your hotel reservations early. It’s a no-vacancy weekend.
• $35 will get you a pass for all three days. You can also buy tickets for individual days.
