In terms of age requirements, different routes have different limits, but there is something for everyone. For example, even though one must be 13 or older to go tubing on the Yakima, there is no minimum age for rafting the Yakima River. Guided Trips: This is the perfect option if you want your outing to be stress and hassle-free. The guide will help you hit the best rapids, stop by great viewpoints, and get the most relaxation out of your trip. There can be up to nine people per boat and there is one guide on each boat. There is a selection of guided trips ranging from the Upper Yakima River to the Lower Yakima to the Cle Elum River and so forth. You are sure to find the level and destination you are looking for!
Overnight Raft & Camp Trip: If you are looking for an extended adventure this option can be just right for you! The excursion starts with a continental breakfast in an 1890 Victorian home and an orientation that follows. The trip starts in a quiet section of the Yakima River and during the five-hour float you will see a variety of vegetation and wildlife, and there will be stops for swimming and picnics. Once you arrive at the camp there will be wall tents with bunks, and if you so desire you can sleep outside under the stars. You can either explore around the area or stay at the camp and enjoy the relaxation that the serene nature provides. Hand-crafted Dutch oven meals are served. In the morning you get to enjoy fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast. Day two of this excursion is more active and the rafting is considered class II. During this trip, you are bound to have a blast and laugh to your heart’s content as you play river games and enjoy yourself. At the end of the trip, you can choose to explore Ellensburg, Cle Elum, or Roslyn.
Fly Fishing – Yet another offering of Rill Adventures is that they have equipment rentals for you to enjoy fishing at any time of the year. The fishing rentals come with a rowing frame, an anchor mount, PFDs, and a shuttle. The two main sectors that are fished in are the Upper Yakima from Teanaway to Thorp and the Lower Yakima River from Big Horn to Big Pines, however, if you wish to take a longer route let the staff know and they can accommodate your request as long as it is not on a Saturday in July or August.
