National Kindness Day 2021
By Shelby Walker
The Ellensburg community is like no other because of our commitment to provide each other and our visitors with exceptional service that goes above and beyond any request that comes our way. The kindness that we live every day inspires our tomorrow. Today is National Kindness Day, and we can’t think of another community that we would want to celebrate with and be a part of.
A welcoming atmosphere is radiated from every corner of our historic downtown. Whether a permanent resident or a traveler stopping in during a road trip, local businesses will welcome you with open arms and offer a personalized experience to keep you coming back time and time again. For some people, their first interaction with Ellensburg is simply stopping for some food and gas, but the service they receive invites them in and gets them hooked on exploring more of what our city has to offer.
Especially during this time, seeing Ellensburg come together and unite has been both a pleasure and a privilege. The kindness of small businesses like Ano Delivery, offering delivery services from any restaurant in town to wherever you are located, puts the customer first while also supporting other local businesses. Gallery One and the Kittitas County Historical Museum both offer free entry into their space to share their love for art and local history with anyone who is interested. Brightside Vintage Farm has found unexpected ways to keep special events happening and even better than before during this time of social distancing. These are just a few examples of businesses showing kindness and expressing gratitude to their customers by making experiences more positive and uncomplicated.
Today we urge you to continue to be kind and go visit some of our local businesses to experience their hard work and exceptional services for yourself.
